Spangler Names New Dum Dum Flavor

Spangler Candy Co., Bryan, Ohio, has announced the results of its 2008 Pop Vote to elect the next new flavor of Dum Dum Pop: Strawberry Shortcake. The winning flavor earned 17.7% of the votes cast by consumers.
In a close race for second place, Banana Split edged out Cool Lime for the No. 2 spot by just 61 votes, earning it a place in the Dum Dum flavor assortment, as well. Both flavors received 14.3% of the vote. Other contenders included Orange Cream, Chocolate Caramel, Raspberry Cream, Cinnamon Roll and Luscious Lemon.
